Learners are innovative thinkers who are successful, confident, respectful and caring

Montessori

“… the child’s individual liberty must be so guided that through his activity he may arrive at independence … the child who does not do, does not know how to do.” —The Montessori Method.

Students will be guided to set goals, self-administrate, and self-evaluate their learning experiences. Generally, a typical school day in the classroom will be a combination of group and individual instruction with opportunities for group and independent work. Our Classroom community will foster Peer teaching and cooperative learning. Together we are going to take the time to build a community of learners who are self-governing.

Our classroom supports the five Montessori curriculum areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Cultural studies, and Language Arts. Learning stations include art, a listening centre, a classroom library, the peace table, and the use of technology.
